The professional services team delivers a number of post installation services on a time and materials basis, but some common services are offered at a fixed cost. The services below are available to customers with active FileCare subscriptions. As part of your FileCare subscription we will help you choose the package which is best for your situation at no extra charge.

Server migration (one step, self-hosted)

There are many situations where you need to move your application server to a new environment. Perhaps you are changing data centers, changing to virtualization of your system or you want your application running on a current version of Microsoft Windows. If you are not upgrading at the same time or if you are upgrading from a recent major version of FileHold, this package is likely for you and includes a number of necessary elements of your move.

Customers that would like to upgrade their FileHold version at the same time they are migrating their server can do so at no extra cost as upgrades are included in your FileCare subscription.

Server migration (FileHold Cloud)

Many customers would like to eliminate the cost and headache of maintaining their own server. A server in the FileHold Cloud is maintenance free for our customers. We make sure you are on current Microsoft versions, you have enough disk space, required patches are applied, etc.

SQL server database migration

There is no need to migrate the application server and database server at the same time depending on Microsoft's product release schedule, but when it is time you need this package. Often customers elect to upgrade their application server at the same time as their database server. This is especially true if the database server and application server run on the same Windows server. This package can be added on to the other customer infrastructure packages and includes the following elements.

Mount the FileHold databases on the new server,
Configuration changes associated with pointing to the new databases and
The final test with all components migrated.

Package price: $200 USD

FileHold provides a mechanism for dropdown menus that are maintained in the administration menu. It also offers a way to connect to arbitrary databases to populate these lists. The first method is good for relatively short and static lists. The second is great when the data is maintained somewhere else. The advanced internal dropdown menu set up is good for times when the lists will be long and there is nowhere to conveniently maintain them.

This scenario uses offline documents to populate the list using the database dropdown menu field type. It has the benefit of being able to use arbitrarily long datasets, import list items from a delimited text file, give specific users or groups permission to maintain some or all the items, and offer the option of using search fields and schema lookups.

This package includes one or more of the following elements:

A one-time import of up to 1000 items from an Excel, delimited text, or similar file to pre-populate a customer configured offline document schema with up to one unique ID, one caption, and four additional search fields.
Configuration of an SQL view of the offline document schema which will be available through the normal dropdown menu configuration dialog.
Configuration of a single dropdown menu to use the SQL view and provide a template for use with other fields.
Configuration of a schema lookup using the configured SQL view.

External data synchronization

Disconnected external data synchronization for decoupled systems and FileHold Cloud is sold per data set. For example, vendor from an ERP system would be a data set, as would employees from an HR system or customers from a CRM. There is a professional services charge and an annual subscription.

Typical extender scenarios

Extenders are additional functionality designed to plug-in to your application server and add features to FileHold outside of the standard production installation. There are standard packaged solutions avaiable for four of our extenders.

Installation of the extender binary files is also included when needed in addition to a specific extender scenario. If the scenario you need is not on this list, it may still be available from the professional services team outside of a package.

Workflow extender plug-in

Each scenario assumes a single workflow template, but configuration can be copied to other templates by customer.

Document extender plug-in

Each scenario assumes a single document schema, but configuration can be copied to other document schemas by customer.

Quick notes extender plug-in

In a train-the-trainer mode, IT personnel will get enough information in the installation session to repeat the installation on additional desktops. Additional schemas can easily be added to a configuration file on the application server.

^*Migration packages require that remote access to the target systems is available over the internet; at a minimum by hands-off screen share. Shared keyboard and mouse is best.
