(Legacy feature) Opening and printing files in the Brava viewer
IMPORTANT: This document describes an optional feature that is no longer available. It is retained for existing users only.
The Brava Office viewer is capable of opening for view a variety of file formats. Users will only be able to open files in the document viewer to which they have access to in the document management system.
If you have a Brava Office Viewer license assigned to your user account, then you will be able to view documents in the Desktop Application.
Also, if you are assigned a Brava Office Viewer license, you automatically get the license and use of the PDF/Image viewer to view PDFs and image files. In order to use the PDF/Image viewer, right-click on a document and select Open in PDF/Image Viewer.
To open a document

Log into the Desktop Application (FDA).

Right-click on a document and select Open in Document Viewer.

Alternatively, click on the Viewer icon (magnifying glass) on the bottom right of the screen.
NOTE: If you are assigned an Brava Office viewer license, you automatically get the license and use of the PDF/Image viewer to view PDFs and image files. In order to use the PDF/Image viewer, right-click on a document and select Open in PDF/Image Viewer.

The viewer opens in the bottom pane of the window. The file formats that an individual user can open depend on the type of viewer license that they were issued by the System Administrator.
To open a document from the Brava Office Viewer

Open the document viewer using the icon or View > Document Viewer.

Select File > Open.

Select in Open Local File or Open file from Library.
- Select the file and click Open. The document will open in the viewer.
Undocking the Viewer
You can “undock” the viewer from the bottom of the desktop application and move it to another area of the computer screen or another monitor for easier viewing.
To undock the viewer, click Undock Viewer.
Brava Office Viewer Toolbars
The Brava Office Viewer has several toolbars to change the way the document is displayed, do markup, and redaction.
Mouse Tools Toolbar

Markup - Allows users to redact and add other markups to the document including watermarks and notes.

Print -Print the entire file or select a region of the document to selected printer.

Publish - Allows users to save documents in an alternative format such as PDF, TIFF or CSF.

Measure - Allows users to measure the size of a line or other geometric object in the document.

Annotate - Allows users to annotate the documents.

Redact - Allows users to redact documents. Note that this requires the redaction module to be purchased.

Select - Opens selection tool for user.
Page Controls Toolbar
When you view a multi-page document or drawing file, the paging controls display on the scroll bar. You can zoom in and out, go to a specific page, change the page color, fit landscape or portrait, and pan.
Find Toolbar
The Search box allows you to search for text (normal phrases and text patterns) contained in a document or drawing file.

Printing Documents through the Brava Office Viewer
To print the open document with the default printer settings, click the Printer icon on the mouse tools toolbar (or you can click Print from the File menu, or use the hotkey <Ctrl> +< P>).
Printing Document and Version Control Numbers
When printing a document, you can include the document and/or version control numbers on the printed document in a banner or watermark. See Adding Banners and Watermarks to Files for more information.
