(Legacy feature) Brava Office viewer

IMPORTANT: This document describes an optional FileHold feature that is no longer available. It is no longer maintained, but retained for existing users only. See the FileHold Viewer for the latest viewing technology.

The Brava Viewer was discontinued by FileHold in 2017. This third party software component was released in 2013. FileHold no longer supports the Brava Viewer, but customers who were licensed in 2017 or earlier can continue to use it AS-IS. FileHold has no way to guarantee that it will work with any workstation environment released since 2017.

The software can be customized to include one of three versions of the powerful Brava Document Viewer. The following are the three levels of viewers available:

  • Brava Office Viewer
  • Brava Office Viewer with CAD support
  • Brava Office Viewer Engineering Edition

The viewer allows users to open, read and work with a myriad of file and document formats, even if they do not have the proper application. See the list of supported file and document formats for the Enterprise Office Viewer.

The viewer comes with other functionalities that allow users to convert files and publish them in PDF, TIFF, DWF, CSF formats and it also supports watermarking and other mark-up features, secure document creation with digital rights protection, redaction and printing.

The Brava Document Viewer is an optional component of the document management software and comes with three licensing options. These options control the type of file formats that a given user can open. The viewer can only be used by the Desktop Application (FDA).

To learn more about these features and what else Brava document viewer can do, go to Help > Contents located in the Enterprise Office Viewer window.

System Administrators are responsible for assigning the viewer licenses. If a user is not assigned a viewer license, then the viewer is not available for them to use in the Desktop Application (FDA).
