System administrator password change

There may be a time where the password for the system administrator account is misplaced or forgotten. In FileHold Instrumentation Tools (FHIT), you can now reset the system administrator password under ADAM objects management > Change user password.

• Change password for FileHold 14.1 and 14.2
• Change password for FileHold 15 and higher.

Follow the prompts in the wizard to change the password.

To reset the system administrator's password (FileHold 15 and higher versions)

1. In FileHold Instrumentation Tools, go to Users management > Change user password.
2. Click Start.
3. In the Database connection settings area, enter the server name.
4. Select one of the following options:

• Use Windows Authentication
• Use SQL Server Authentication - enter the user name and password.

5. Click Next.
6. From the user list, select the system administrator whose password needs to be reset.
7. Enter the password twice and click Next.
8. Click Change.
9. The system administrator password is updated. The message "completed successfully" appears.
10. Click Finish to exit the wizard.

To reset the system administrator's password (FileHold 14.1 and FileHold 14.2)

1. In FileHold Instrumentation Tools, go to ADAM objects management > Change user password.
2. Click Start.
3. In the Database connection settings area, enter the server name.
4. Select one of the following options:

• Use Windows Authentication
• Use SQL Server Authentication - enter the user name and password.

5. In the ADAM settings area, enter the server name and port number.
6. Select one of the following options:

• The account of the currently logged on user
• This account - enter the user name and password of FH Service account.

7. Click Next.
8. From the user list, select the system administrator whose password needs to be reset.
9. Enter the password twice and click Next.
10. Click Change.
11. The system administrator password is updated. The message "completed successfully" appears.
12. Click Finish.
