FileHold reporting options overview

FileHold offers several different methods for reporting on documents and processes within FileHold.

  • Standard reports - These built-in reports typically provide information on the operation of FileHold. They generally have fixed output with variable filter criteria. Some offer output to CSV, PDF, and Excel files. Many have "hot" links or action buttons that will take you directly to other reports or processing. These reports can be found all over FileHold.
  • Saved searches - For most users, this is the most common type of report they will see and use. They are focused on documents and metadata.
  • Custom reports - There are two external report viewers integrated into the full desktop or web user interface. They provide a FileHold adminstrator with permission to control which users can run each custom report. Custom reports can be created using two different methods:
    • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) - A full features design and report generation tool.
    • Standard SQL queries with HTML output - A simple method for creating reports without requiring the configuration of SSRS.
