FileHold and EMC Captiva
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; FileHold Systems Inc, www.filehold.com a developer of advanced document and record management software has announced that in co-operation with EMC Captiva it has released "ScanCap" to automate the importation of scanned images from Captiva Quick Scan Pro to FileHold software.
Document scanners / imagers are becoming pervasive as industry and government attempt to convert their paper files and records into electronic forms. QuickScan Pro is EMC Captiva’s out-of-the-box document scanner software and imaging solution that provides all the necessary capabilities for high-speed scanning, image enhancement, OCR, viewing, annotation, printing, and storing images for both black-and-white and color pages. QuickScan Pro supports barcode and patchcode recognition for automatic document separation as well as advanced document scanner features such as MultiStream and Auto color detection.
ScanCap takes scanned images from Quick Scan Pro and transfers them to the FileHold Document Management library where they are indexed and stored. ScanCap uses fully automated processes that minimize operator intervention. Once in the library FileHold makes the documents secure by providing controlled user access, ensuring a full history of any changes are kept and maintains a record of every person who views or checks the document out. This process contributes to companies being in full compliance with "best practices" in document and record storage.
