“Going Paperless” – Protecting Intellectual Property in FileHold Document and Records Management Software Document Objective

This white paper is a case study for IT professionals wishing to understand a real world implementation of the process of backing up the document management software. This is a typical FileHold customer’s, IT Department managed, backup system put in place to help safeguard the FileHold databases, documents and system data in the event of a catastrophic server failure.

This document does not imply any warranty or assurance by FileHold Systems that data being backed up can be recovered at a future time. FileHold recommends that disaster recovery of backups be tested on a regular, scheduled basis by IT staff. A FileHold test server license can be purchased inexpensively for the testing of the backups. For a test server license quote contact sales@filehold.com.

In addition to these efforts, FileHold also recommends regular server or virtual machine imaging, as well as offsite data storage at regular intervals. Having only one type of backup in place is only satisfying the bare minimum of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
