FileHold End User / Client Requirements

The page covers the system requirements for end users wanting to access documents stored on the FileHold server. There are 3 possible FileHold clients that users can use to access documents stored on the FileHold library each of which will be discussed in detail below. All 3 of these clients are included with the price of FileHold.

1) To Access the FileHold Library Using a Web Browser

Users can access documents in the FileHold library using either of the following web browsers.

  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.5


2) To Access the FileHold Library Using the FileHold / MS Office Application Plug-In

User can access documents in the FileHold Library from within their favourite Microsoft Office Applications. For more information on MS Office Integration see the features listed in the Distribute, Search & Access section of the site. The requirements for the MS Office Application Plug-in are as follows;

  • Requires the FileHold Desktop Application to be installed on the client machine. See below for information on requirements for the FileHold Desktop Application.
  • Integrates into the following Microsoft Office 2003 applications - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.


3) To Access the FileHold Library Using The FileHold Desktop Application

The FileHold '08 Desktop Application combines the best user interface functionality of desktop software with the broad reach and low-cost deployment of Web applications. For more information on MS Office Integration see the features listed in the Distribute, Search & Access section of the site. The requirements for running the FileHold Desktop Application are as follows;

  • Requires .NET Framework version 2.0 to be installed on the client machine.
  • Supports the following client operating systems Windows XP SP2 Professional
