FileHold Standard Features

FileHold is a powerful document and record management solution that is loaded with standard features. All of our features are explained in greater detail at throughout this or can be seen by taking our product video tours.

We are often asked about some features that are considered as extra in many other products, the following are a just a few of them that are included with your purchase of FileHold;:

FileHold Server

The server software is included in our pricing and is a one time fee. The price of the software is determined based on the number of registered or guest users accessing the software concurrently.

Document Scanning and importation Utility

As documents are being scanned / imaged they can be directed to a FileHold utility called “watched folders”. Watched folders provides for easy importation and indexing of scanned documents into the library.  After scanning, the documents appear in the watched folders from where the users “drag and drop” the documents into the library adding indexes and metadata for future retrieval. There is no additional charge for this and any licensed user can do it.

All 3 User Clients: FileHold Desktop Application (FDA), Web Browser, MS Office 2003

Users are able to connect to documents in the FileHold library via any of the following 3 methods all of which are included as standard features with each FileHold user licence:

  1. FileHold Desktop Application Access - The FileHold desktop application is a windows based application that allows users to access the FileHold Server.
  2. FileHold Microsoft 2003 Office Application Access - allows users to access documents using their favorite MS Office Applications.
  3. FileHold Web Browser Access - allows users to access documents in the library using a standard web browser.

Web Services Application Programming Interface (API)

It is easy for our consultant partners and our customer's to extend and/or amend FileHold's functionality and to integrate with existing enterprise productivity applications. The web services API provides functionality to create library objects (cabinets, folders or document schemas), associate documents being added with metadata schema and values; and/or manage library object memberships.
