Document Linking - Compound Document Management
Back to the Features List
- Document to Document linking allows users to link related documents
together that would not be stored in the same folder. Documents that
are linked together are sometimes referred to as a compound document.
For example a master contract document could be linked to all of its
contact amendments. Users are then able to quickly see a listing of
all documents linked to the master file in a couple of clicks. This
allows users to quickly organize documents into logical groups based
on the context of the document compared to others in the system. Document
to document linking maintains a parent - child relationship between
the documents.
- In addition, Document shortcuts can be created allowing
users to make changes to a source document in a single folder
and have all other folders that link to it have their documents automatically
updated. For example, a centralized changed to price list or engineering
document is automatically changed in all linked contract or product
folders respectively.
