Workflow Tasks from Microsoft Office Applications
FileHold has extended its integration with the Microsoft Office 2003 application
suite to include the review and approval of documents. As the majority
of documents to be reviewed or approved are in Office format this article
focuses on the interaction with the users workflow task list from within
the Microsoft Office application environment.
Which Microsoft Office Applications are Supported?
FileHold '08 supports completion of workflow tasks from the following
Microsoft 2003 Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
and Visio.
How do I get a copy of documents that I need to be reviewing or
approving from within an Office application?
Clicking on the Browse FileHold option from the File Application menu
will allow you to browse the contents of the FileHold library. Select
the Review & Approvals > My task list option to view the entire
list of tasks. Select the tasks associated with the documents you need
to review or approve and click the Get A Copy button at the top of the
task list.
How do I submit a Review or Approval of a document
from within a Microsoft Office application?
Once you have looked through the document, made my changes to it and are
ready to submit it as a review simply click on the Send to FileHold >
Send Review / Approval Feedback menu option from the Office applications
File menu. The users personal task list will appear. Select the the task
that corresponds to the document you are submitting a review for and click
OK. You will now be prompted to submit the review of the document adding
comments and attaching feedback documents as required. By selecting the
'Use Active Document' option the document that the user is activity editing
will be attached as a feedback document to the comments. Click OK to submit
the comments and to upload the feedback file to the FileHold server. The
review or approval document task is now completed.
