Document Management: Document Reminders FAQ

What is a document reminder?
A document reminder is a simple way for a user to be alerted of a document that needs your attention in the future. For example users can be reminded monthly on expense reports that need to be submitted or yearly on employee contracts that are up for renewal.

How do I set a reminder for a document ?
Using the file contextual menu associated with the file you want to set a reminder for select the Set A Reminder menu option. Once selected a dialogue box appears allowing user to set the date and frequency of the reminder event.


What are my reminder options?

After the set a reminder link has been clicked the user is able to set the date and frequency for the reminder (see screenshot below). Note that recurring reminders can be set on a daily, weekly, quarterly, bi-annually or annual basis. If this is a reminder you do not want to have recur select the Once Only option from the reminder frequency menu.




How can I manage / view all of my document reminders?
By clicking on the Manage My reminders button from their personal Reminders view will display a listing of all document reminders a user has. Users can access their personal reminders view by clicking on the My FileHold > Document Reminders menu option from the library tree.


How am I alerted when the reminder is up?

Users are notified of reminders from their personal reminders accessible by clicking on the My FileHold > Document Alerts menu option from the library tree.
