How Do I Enable / Disable Guaranteed User Access?

A guaranteed user is a user account that is guaranteed access to the FileHold server even if all concurrent access licenses are in use. By setting a user as a guaranteed user you are dedicating a concurrent access license to this user account. This setting is usually reserved for users like library administrators that frequently access the server.

Example: the filehold server has a license for 10 concurrent access licenses. There are 30 named users added to the server all of which are pulling from this pool of 10 concurrent access licenses. This means that only 10 of the 30 users can be logged onto the server at a given time. By setting one user account to have guaranteed access this means that 29 users will now draw from a pool of 9 concurrent access licenses because the guaranteed user has their own dedicated concurrent access license.

How To Set a User Account As Guaranteed

  1. Click on the System Admin > Users and Group Management > Users > List of All Users > User Name to reveal the contextual pop up.
  2. Click “Guarantee User Access" option
