Search for a Document

Your ability to seek the objects you are looking for is dependent on how precise your queries are. The following table provides tips on how to successfully structure your full text search.

To Use
find documents containing as many of your search terms as possible: Enter search terms separated by commas (,)
Plus signs are not currently supported as separators (+).
search for a single phrase: Separate each word in a phrase with spaces
For example, you might search for: Synergy Verity Search Module.
expand a search: Separate each search term with commas (,) or with the word or.
contract a search: Separate each search term with the word and.
search for special characters (such as -, #, &, and %): Use wild card symbols: For single-characters, use the ? wildcard. For multiple-characters, use the * wildcard.
For example,

entering 100? will match 100%

entering Synergy 3?? will match Synergy 3xx, 3xy, 3yx, but not 3x

entering file* matches Synergy, FileCare and files.
search on a word whose exact spelling you don't know:
match words that begin with the same character:
