software announced it has released the FileScan Bridge which adds automated
document tagging and filing of scanned documents into its powerful,
secure document management repository.
Document scanners have become less expensive and are pervasive; appearing
on company desktops and networks. Business and Government want to convert
paper documents into electronic form and store them in a secure location
where they can easily be found at a later date. When documents are stored
electronically costs are reduced through the reduction of storage and
filing costs and the elimination of duplicate content. Without the means
to securely store, manage and search for scanned documents the benefits
of scanning will not be fully realized.

(or tags) the document with metadata for future retrieval. These electronic

library. The end result is that scanned documents can be found and put

a fully automated, cost effective end-to-end method of scanning, tagging,

service contracts. By combining FileScan Bridge with low cost scanning
software such as Captiva Quick Scan Pro customers get a total off-the-shelf
solution. The FileScan Bridge can be configured to recognize the type
of document being scanned and to capture the important metadata (tags)
for each document. FileScan Bridge then uses the tags associated with
the document to automatically file the document in an appropriate folder
in the repository. The FileScan Bridge ships complete with training
videos and documentation that will enable customers to install and configure
it without outside help. The FileScan Bridge is included as a core feature
of FileHold’07.2 document management software. FileHold software

departmental solution.
