Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; FileHold Systems Inc, www.filehold.com a developer of advanced document and record management software has announced release of an optional toolkit that allows Microsoft® Active Directory users to synchronize domain user and group objects with the FileHold’06 user management subsystem.
The standard version of FileHold’06 ships with a self contained
user rights management system using Active Directory Application Mode
(ADAM) technology. In smaller deployments ADAM gives Librarians and
Administrators complete control over user rights management including
access to folders and files in the document management library.
The newly released Integration Toolkit is designed for larger deployments
where the customer already uses Microsoft Active Directory to manage
user rights and does not want to have multiple management systems. Active
Directory is a service that is included with Windows Server 2003 and
Windows 2000 Server operating systems. Active Directory enables centralized,
secure management of an entire network, which might span a building,
a city, or multiple locations throughout the world. FileHold '06 user
and role management can be easily and frequently synchronized with Active
Directory.

provides single sign-on authentication for FileHold '06 users. Authentication
is synchronized with Active Directory eliminating the need for users
to manually enter their credentials to log into FileHold '06. This saves
steps for users who have logged into their Windows accounts, have been
authenticated against Active Directory and want to use the FileHold
application. This toolkit has been very well received by IT departments
who have deployed FileHold’06 across a broad user community”
